Hunger Action Month
Every week, about 210 families count on Harmony Community Cares for groceries. This September, help us make sure no one in our neighborhood goes without.
Why It Matters
Hunger doesn't always look the way people expect. It's the parent skipping a meal so the kids can eat. It's the grandparent choosing between groceries and a prescription. It's the student who's trying to focus on homework on an empty stomach. In North Lawndale, our neighbors are working hard, and many are still stretched thin. Each week, our food pantry serves an average of 210 families. That's 210 households who walk out with food for the table and a little less worry on their shoulders. September is Hunger Action Month, a time when communities across the country come together to act on hunger. Here in North Lawndale, we're asking you to be part of it.
Food Is Just the Start
At Harmony Community Cares, we believe a strong neighborhood feeds more than bodies. Alongside our pantry, we offer free tutoring and community arts classes, so children and families have room to learn, create, and thrive. When families have food on the table, everything else gets easier: kids learn better, parents can plan ahead, and neighbors can focus on what's possible.
Three Ways to Take Action
1. Give
Your gift helps stock our shelves with the groceries families rely on every week. [Insert gift amounts and what they provide, e.g., "$25 provides ___."]
2. Volunteer
Help us pack, sort, and welcome neighbors at the pantry. No experience needed, just a little time and a lot of heart.
3. Spread the Word
