Remembering Lanette Joseph

The Food Pantry is saddened by the loss of Lanette Joseph, a longtime volunteer and community member who was like family to many, and who began serving in 2010 and continued in different capacities through 2025.

Lanette served as pantry coordinator for many years, coordinating with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. She loved telling people about the pantry, and every summer her grandsons could be found working alongside her, even in years she couldn't be there herself. One of her favorite traditions was organizing pantry volunteers for GCFD's annual advocacy trip to Springfield.

Lanette cared deeply about the pantry and this community, and that love was returned wholeheartedly. She will be deeply missed.
